RRB Group D recruitment 2018: Indian Railways has started the process of hiring for about 90,000 seats. In what is believed to be one of the world’s biggest recruitment drives, the Indian Railways is hiring for the posts of loco pilots, technicians, gangmen, switchmen, trackmen, cabinmen, welders, helpers and porters.

In what is believed to be one of the world’s biggest recruitment drives, the Indian Railways is hiring for the posts of loco pilots, technicians, gangmen, switchmen, trackmen, cabinmen, welders, helpers and porters. This recruitment drive is a part of Piyush Goyal’s strategy to “right-size” the railways which is “top-heavy”. Taking a major step in this direction, around 63,000 vacancies have been announced in group D category that includes gangmen, trackmen and another for hiring 26,500 personnel as loco pilots and assistant loco pilots. The online registration for RRB recruitment 2018 will begin from 03/02/2018 and will close on 05/03/2018.




Here are the other details of RRB recruitment 2018:

1. Eligibility criteria:

A) Age (as on 01.07.2018): 18 – 31 Years.

B) Essential Academic Qualifications for RRB Posts 2018: All the candidates must have Educational/Technical qualifications as directed in the official notification, from a recognized University or Institute. The required qualification has to be provided with the submission of the application for the Grade D posts at RRB online application link.

Candidates need to keep in mind that Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted due to course completed Act Apprenticeship/ITI for the post of Technicians if not mentioned.

2. Fee payment:

– RRB recruitment 2018 fee can be paid online through internet banking or debit or credit cards till 12.03.2018.




– Candidates who want to pay the fee offline can do it through SBI Bank Challan Payment mode which closes on 12.03.2018 at 13.00 Hrs in any branch of SBI. They can also use Post Office Challan Payment mode which closes on 10.03.2018 at 13.00 Hrs in any branch of computerized Post Office.

3. Selection Process:

– Computer Based Test (CBT)
– Physical Efficiency Tests (PET)
– Document Verification and Empanelling of selected Candidates

4. Medical standards:

All the candidates will have to clear the medical test performed by the Railway Administration. It is conducted to make sure that the candidates are medically able-bodied to carry out the duties associated with the posts chosen by them.

All the candidates must keep a colour photograph (JPEG size 20 to 50 KB) and SC/ST certificate ready while applying for RRB recruitment 2018. Apart from this, the candidates will also have to provide some personal information like name, matriculation/ITI/NAC roll number and year of passing, date of birth, aadhaar details, father’s name etc.
